Bereavement support

Some services or organisations that may be of assistace to the bereaved are listed below:

  • Bereavement Register - Helps to reduce the amount of direct mail sent to the address of a person who has died.  

 

  • Brake, the road safety charity - Works with communities and organisations across the UK to stop the tragedy of road deaths and injuries, make streets and communities safer for everyone, and support people bereaved and seriously injured on roads.

 

 

  • Child Bereavement UK - Supports families and educates professionals when a baby or child of any age dies or is dying, or when a child is facing bereavement.

 

  • The Compassionate Friends - Supports bereaved parents and their families after the death of a child of any age and from any cause.  

 

 

  • Disaster Action - Provides resources and information for the bereaved and survivors of major disasters that occur in the UK and overseas. 

 

 

  • HASAG - A registered charity dedicated to supporting those affected by mesothelioma, asbestosis or any other asbestos-related disease.

 

 

  • If U Care Share - A charity promoting emotional wellbeing in young people and supports families affected by suicide.

 

  • INQUEST – A charity, independent of government, providing free advice to people bereaved by a death in custody and detention.

 

  • Murdered Abroad - A support group for families, partners and friends of the victims of murder and manslaughter abroad.

 

 

  • Papyrus – A national charity for the prevention of young suicide.  

 

  • Samaritans - A national charity offering support to people and communitites in their time of need. 

 

  • SUDEP Action – Provides support for those affected by epilepsy-related deaths.
